The WAAC is the urban extension of the School of Architecture in Blacksburg, Virginia. The WAAC is part of a growing Virginia Tech presence in Alexandria, near the new Innovation Campus.
The WAAC offers stand-alone degrees in Master of Architecture (2-year professional), Urban Design (MSci Arch), and PhD in Architecture and Design Research, as well as educating study-away upper-level Bachelor of Architecture students from the main campus and the National Student Exchange. The primary teaching responsibilities of this position include an Integrative Design Lab or an upper-level Design Lab for graduate or undergraduate students for both semesters and a required course or professional elective in the professional degree programs. Associated service to students and school could include Architecture Licensing advising, internship advising, and serving as liaison to professional organizations.
The Search Committee will look for expertise in areas such as: urban design, building design, professional practice, project management, and contemporary building practices such as adaptive reuse and green building.

The Special Assistant to the President for Facilities and Construction will oversee all construction operations, communicate effectively with major stakeholders, and provide proactive leadership commensurate with the significant scope and scale of this role. The Special Assistant will actively engage in procurement processes, budgetary and fiscal management, capital planning, quality assurance, and vendor management. The Special Assistant will assess the internal infrastructure and create an organizational structure that enhances the expertise of the staff serving in designated roles and promotes an environment of excellence and adherence to best practices. The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center’s associate vice president for Facilities is a senior-ranking position and is part of the operation’s executive team. Responsibilities include all Ohio State Wexner Medical Center-owned and -leased research, academic and office spaces, including The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Major/Essential Functions:
The College seeks enthusiastic and innovative colleagues to join our growing design studio faculty on the High Plains of West Texas. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching architecture design studios and an ability to demonstrate clear pedagogical methods. They should also be able to craft and execute coordinated studios and seminars, guiding students to acquire competitive technical and critical skills at various stages of our design curriculum.
Full-time faculty at TTU have an expected assignment of 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service. Candidates will be expected to teach architecture design studios at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, the position generally requires the candidate to develop and teach a lecture and/or seminar course in design communication, architectural design process, site design, and/or technical assembly of buildings, depending on individual expertise, interests, and qualifications. They may also advise MS and Ph.D. students and serve as a chair or member of their committees.
Being a tenure track position at a Tier One institution, recognized for its high research activity and academic excellence, there are clear expectations for candidates to advance disciplinary knowledge. This involves maintaining a high level of research and creative activity, which may include publications, presentations, and exhibitions in national and international peer-reviewed venues, seeking external funding, and supporting students.

We offer the ability to work a hybrid schedule, but all candidates must be able to work in the office on a weekly basis for in-person meetings and design collaboration with the principal and team members.
Position requirements:
- Professional degree in Architecture
- Minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience working in architecture
- Experience working on multi-family residential projects
- Working knowledge of type I, high-rise building construction
- Strong design and technical skills with a passion for urban design and creative housing solutions
-- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality work
- Experience producing drawings for entitlement approvals
- Strong understanding of the building code and accessibility requirements
- Ability to coordinate consultant drawings and systems
- Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, V-Ray, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite. Minimum of 3 years of Revit experience.
